In 2017, Central Coast Council was awarded a $3 million grant through the Australian Government's "Improving Your Local Parks and Environment" program to support ongoing implementation of aspects of the Tuggerah Lakes Estuary Management Plan that aligned with the objectives of the grant program.
This funding was provided over a three year term, between 2017 and 2020 and included a range of projects such as stormwater improvements, aquatic infrastructure upgrades, recreational upgrades, streambank and riparian rehabilitation, saltmarsh, wetland and foreshore rehabilitation and Landcare support.
